Work with Kwaku

Four ways I can be useful.

The work starts with a decision, not a predetermined solution. Each engagement is shaped around the evidence required, the owner of the decision and what must be true for the next move.

How the work lands

Clear advice. Practical decisions. Accountable execution.

The method is deliberately simple enough to challenge and rigorous enough to use.

  1. 01 / Understand

    Establish what is actually true.

Interrogate the evidence, incentives, constraints, dependencies and unspoken assumptions.

  2. 02 / Decide

    Make the choice visible.

Separate what to act on, what to control or adapt, and what should be left alone.

  3. 03 / Design

    Build the operating answer.

Put owners, decision rights, guardrails, milestones and a credible management rhythm around the work.

  4. 04 / Prove

    Leave evidence, not theatre.

Define acceptance criteria and let working proof—not presentation momentum—earn expansion.

Selected experience

Operator credibility, translated into advisory value.

Fourteen years of making technology work inside regulated, global and institutionally complex environments. The value is not a borrowed framework; it is judgement formed through responsibility.

01 / Post-acquisition operations

Turned fragmented service disciplines into one operating system.

Designed the target operating model, decision rights and supervisory rhythm needed to align incident, problem and change management across inherited business lines.

02 / Hybrid infrastructure

Held continuity and strategic simplification in the same decision.

Owned a mixed estate spanning cloud, legacy systems, networks, applications and third-party hosting, while sponsoring a deliberate path towards a more coherent destination.

03 / AI in live operations

Put human-supervised AI inside established workflows.

Designed auditable incident triage, risk visibility and management-information capabilities integrated with the tools operational teams already use.

04 / Cross-jurisdictional governance

Kept local obligations visible without fragmenting the whole.

Directed a global technology-risk response across divergent sanctions, privacy and data-residency requirements while preserving central accountability.

Point of view

The gap is rarely ambition. It is the institution required to carry it.

Institutions

Access is not capability.

Participation can rise while infrastructure, operating capacity and decision power remain weak. Visible activity is not durable progress.

AI

Governance is an operating system.

Principles become real when someone owns the decision, evidence can be inspected and the system has a credible stop condition.

Scale

What scales is the control.

Growth exposes informal dependencies. Technology can only move as far as accountability, service and risk can remain coherent.

Speaking, moderation & convening

Sharp conversations for rooms making consequential choices.

Kwaku brings operator depth, a distinctive school-leaver-to-executive story and a UK–Ghana lens to technology, leadership and institutional change.

01

Keynotes & executive talks

02

Moderation & fireside conversations

Prepared, substantive conversations across technology, financial services, institutional change, social mobility and African markets.

03

Briefings & curated rooms

Performance Over Pedigree

How institutions confuse familiarity with capability, why class is an operating issue, and what leaders can change in selection, progression and sponsorship.

Audience leaves with: A practical challenge to the systems that decide who gets seen, trusted and advanced.

When Technology Outruns the Institution

What complex operating environments reveal about scaling, AI adoption and the institutional controls that must catch up.

Audience leaves with: A decision frame for separating useful acceleration from uncontrolled exposure.
03 / Africa · Innovation · Diaspora

Access Is Not Capability

Why participation metrics can conceal weak infrastructure, and how institutions and diaspora networks can build durable capability instead.

Audience leaves with: A move from visible activity towards systems, institutions and markets that can hold progress.

About Kwaku

Performance over pedigree.

I entered the Bank of England at 23 through a school-leaver route, without a university degree or a professional network. Fourteen years later, I lead technology operations in regulated wealth and advise from experience across public infrastructure, global platforms and institutional change.

My advantage is concatenation: connecting what organisations often keep separate—technology and operations, ambition and control, executive intent and delivery reality, the UK and Ghana. I am most useful where the answer cannot be found inside one function.

I am Ghanaian, Asante Twi-speaking and based in London. Alongside my executive work, I serve as a school governor and Chair of the Resources Committee, and I am a Freeman of the City of London and the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.
